Hello new readers! I say new because this is Mon Petit Chou’s first official blog post. We debated a blog for a long time, never fully committed to it. But here we are, taking up the gauntlet in preparation for our brand new venture.
If you know MPC already, then you know we love cards, invitations, and all things old school paper. An out-dated art, you may be thinking. But that’s part of the appeal for us. We see stationery and other paper craft as art and we know there are those of you out there who agree. We plan to keep designing cards and doing custom invitations (new custom work coming to the portfolio soon!), but we (mostly Erin) have been jonesing for something more. Something I can throw myself into creatively, but that is in keeping with the MPC brand.
So I decided to go for it. Heather was nothing but supportive.
Mon Petit Chou is launching an party planning division. Birthdays, showers, holidays, just because. You name it and I want to help! Now if you’re thinking “Sweet! Maybe this Erin person can help me plan my wedding!”, yeah maybe I could. But that’s not quite what I’m looking to do. Wedding planning is its own complicated industry and there are so many incredible event planners out there who do a spectacular job at weddings. Don’t get me wrong, I dig weddings and have done some mean wedding planning in my life, but I’m interested in slightly less formal events.
You know all those parties you see on Pinterest and think “That looks amazing, but who would ever take the time to do that?!” I want to help you throw those parties. I can be involved with everything from invites to selecting a theme to sourcing and ordering supplies to food to set-up. Sounds like a lot, I know. But planning parties can be stressful and sometimes you just need another person to help pull them off. I want to do that for you so you can actually enjoy yourself!
In the coming days weeks, you will start seeing changes to the MPC site. For example, adding a page all about MPC Parties. In the meantime, I will be here blogging, sharing parties I’ve planned, offering DIY ideas, and sharing our progress. For now I am just looking for parties in the south Jersey, Philadelphia, Delware region. I’m willing to travel, but I need to get off the ground first. If you’re throwing a party and want some help or know someone who does, send me an email.
If I’ve caught your interest and you’re ready to hear more, stay tuned!
By the way, today was Bastille Day. What a sweet Bastille Day party I could throw — blaring La Marseillaise, everyone wearing red caps, delightful cheese platters. Sounds divine, doesn’t it?
